To celebrate the 50-year anniversary of Contact Improvisation, I am honoring the dance and itsroots with a series of workshops.The theme is:
What lays at the roots and the heart of this form?When I asked fellow colleagues and dancers this question, it generated long conversations andreflections.I included my great teacher and friend, Martin Keogh, in my queries, as his teachings feed mydeepest roots in the form. Throughout our conversations, he has shared a multitude of visionsand stories from his 42 years of experience with contact improvisation.
The Hearts / Roots workshop is a way to honor Martin, his teaching, and his worldwideinfluence on CI with his commitment to the form.
We will focus on a framework of skills that allow for an increasing safety to enter the unknownwith your dance partner, including
: Developing a lucidity of touch where you feel your partner, and also feel your partnerfeeling you
3 dimensional falling skills from different heights, alone and together
The dance of the unknown giving up custody of your own center

Leilani Weiss hat bei vielen Lehrern - der ERSTEN Generation, gelernt.

Nancy Stark Smith .Nina Little, Keriac, Lepkoff und vorallem .......
Insbesondere ist sie tief verbunden mit Martin Keogh
Das ist ein Privileg, dass nur wenige Menschen haben. Dieses Geschenk möchte Leilani nun weitergeben.
Sie reiste 25 jahre lang durch die ganze Welt um Jeden dieser Lehrer zu erfahren und von diesen zu lernen.
Was ist eigentlich das Herz der Contact Improvistion ?
Unser Anliegen ist es das Alte wertvolle Wissen - das Herz .. die Quelle der Contact Improvisation wieder zu erinnern und weiterzugeben.
An dieses heilige Feld der einzigen Wurzeln anzuknüpfen - von diesem zu lernen um das NEUE frisch durch das "ursprüngliche" zu bereichern und wieder zu verbinden.
Das HERZ und die Wurzeln...der Contact Improvisation .. tief im inneren zu ersinnen, zu erahnen, zu berühren, zu lauschen, zu empfinden.. . und zu leben - ___________________________________________________________________________________
Leilani hat CI verinnerlicht wie nur wenige Lehrer die ich kenne und sie hat eine Fähigkeit es auf eine sehr organische - liebevolle und freudige Art und Weise zu vermitteln.
Ihr tiefe Liebe zu diesem Tanz ist spürbar und in ihren Bewegungen sichtbar und ihr weites und offenes Herz ist eine wahre Freude in Ihren Kursen zu erleben.
Leilani ist schon sehr aufgeregt!!! - diesese Projekt ist sehr spontan und unerwartet entstanden - aus dem tiefen Wunsch dass das alte Wissen nicht verloren geht - Wir wissen noch nicht wo hin es führen wird...wir sind alle schon sehr aufgeregt und freuen uns auf Dich wenn du Teil dieses Herz und Wurzel - Projektest sein möchtest.

In this workshop we will go deeper in the principles of this dance form and we will train our body and mind to be ready for the unexpected dance. So we can all feel comfortable and safe. I want you to be aware of some personal relationship with your own dance experience.

Do you feel safe falling from different heights?
Are you available to invert your position, bringing wait into your hands?

Some of them are Nancy Stark Smith. Martin Keogh...Keriac, Lepkoff, Nina Little and many others whose names may not be so known but have contributed to this form in many ways.
Leilani has internalized CI like only few teachers I know
and she has an ability to teach it in a very organic - loving and joyful way
Her deep love for this dance and the teachers from the very beginning is palpable
and her wide and open heart is a real pleasure to experience in her classes.
Our concern is to remember and pass on the old valuable knowledge - the heart .. and the roots (Source) of Contact Improvisation.
